Recently my brother in law asked me how to download Youtube videos. Indeed, Youtube doesn’t offer this possibility straight from their website.
I can imagine that a lot of people have come up with this question, so I went looking for ways to download Youtube videos.
There are many tools and utilities on the internet to do this, but one of the best that I found is the “Free Youtube Download”. It’s soo simple to use and, as the name suggests, the price is also very right.
Free Youtube Download is a small program from dvdvideosoft; it’s very easy to install, and the interface is simple and self-explaining. Unlike many other “free” utilities, it contains no adware or spyware, so it’s absolutely safe to install and run.

Once you have installed it, this is how to download Youtube videos:
- Launch the Free Youtube Download utility
- Enter the Youtube video URL in the input field
- Enter the path and filename in the output field
- Click on the “download” button and wait a few seconds
That’s it. You now have the video on your hard disk in avi format, which can be played with Windows Media Player.

Youtube is a website where anyone can upload videos, share them with friends and view videos that were uploaded by others. It was created in February 2005 by three former Paypal employees. In November 2006, Google Inc. bought Youtube for US$ 1.65 billion.
